What can you do?
Kayaking
Our premium sit-on kayaks, both single and tandems, make a great platform for exploring and learning new skills in the great outdoors. A real ‘all abilities’ activity.
Stand Up Paddleboarding
For more of a challenge, get on your feet on a stand up paddleboard (SUP). We have the latest solo boards, and a mega 8 person XL SUP for team games and more.
A typical session:
You’ll arrive at our base in Cullercoats, where we’ll check your group in and then size them up for wetsuits and bouyancy aids. With all hands on deck to get the craft to the beach we’ll begin your session.
We’ll start with either a beach or sea based warm up and then crack on with the rotations ensuring everyone gets to try all the activities. We usually do a rotation of our activities, for example that could be bringing 24 children/young adults and splitting the group into 3 where each group does all activities such as single kayaking, single paddle boarding and the XL SUP. We’ll then have a big group North Sea bath to finish off.
Then we’ll all head back to base bringing the craft with us and our sea salty smiles. You’ll get changed, warmed up and head home with some stories to tell.

Cullercoats Bay
Just 20 minutes from Newcastle City Centre. This sandy cove is sheltered and easy to access.
It’s a great jump off point to explore the North Sea.

River Wansbeck
A meandering river, lined with trees, just 5 minutes from Ashington. This is perfect as a first river adventure.
With easy access to the water and a playground on site, there is lots to do.

Prices
Our minimum group size is 8 people. We can accommodate groups Mon-Fri and on weekends outside of our peak season. Peak season is 1 June to 5 September.

The Mini Adventure
Choose up to two adventure activities and enjoy a half day with CBK. Bring your packed lunch and enjoy the beach or riverside before and after your activity. This option can work well for larger groups who need to split the day.

The Ultimate Day
This is the ultimate adventure! Choose up to three adventure activities and enjoy beach games in between. We’ll also do a mini beach clean and talk about staying safe in the water. Bring a packed lunch to enjoy on the beach too.
