Sit-On Kayaking

Get to grips with the basics of kayaking. We'll start with a relaxed warm up, then cover everything from the basics of lifting and launching, through to forward paddling, manouvering and self-rescues. Our boats are very user friendly, so by the end of the session we should have time for a short exploration of the local area too.

Surf Kayaking

There is nothing like the buzz of riding a wave. Give it a go under our instruction. We'll meet you in Cullercoats, head round to Longsands, one of the region's best surf spots and we'll surf. Paddling out through waves, landing through surf, handling your boat on a wave and basic turns are all covered.

Stand Up Paddle boarding

Get to grips with the basics of SUP. We'll start with a relaxed warm up, then cover everything from the basics of lifting and launching, through to getting on your feet, paddling, manouvering and self-rescues. Our boards are very user friendly, so by the end of the session we should have time for a short exploration of the local area too.

FAQs

What will I see and do?

On arrival your guide will offer a comprehensive safety briefing where we discuss your aims and objectives, the venue and the day’s weather forecast. We’ll introduce you to the equipment you’ll be using and do
a quick warm up to get ready for the session. We’ll then take to the water and the skills tuition will begin. Once you feel confident, we will head out on a short journey and put your skills into practice. At the end of the session we will discuss self-rescue techniques and you’ll have the chance to try them if you don’t mind getting wet. We spend at least two hours on the water.
