FAQs
Where and when do I meet the guide?
We have attached the arrival and end times of your tour onto the booking invoice as a handy reminder because we know you might be booking months in advance and so you can make plans for the rest of your day around this experience.
Your guide will meet you at Kocktail, Quayside Garden NE1 3DE (opposite the law courts)
What will I see and do?
After a briefing from your guide and a relaxed warm up, we’ll launch our kayaks from Newcastle City Marina, just beneath the Tyne Bridge. Tours always start with a quick kayak skills lesson on the water so you get a feel for the boat. Depending on the tide and the flow of the river, we’ll head east to the Millennium Bridge and Ouseburn or west towards Dunston Staithes. Your guide will interpret the cityscape as you paddle with occasional stops for tales of the city and to take pictures.
The latter half of the tour is usually when we ‘go with the flow’ of the river, so you can just relax and take it all in. Tours last around two hours.
Who is this tour suitable for?
