Happiness awaits on the water this Summer
Youngsters enjoying our half day Mini Adventures
This summer, we have a jam-packed programme of unique experiences ready to entertain people of all ages and abilities. From action-packed lessons with expert instructors to guided experiences on top-of-the-range stand-up paddleboards and kayaks, there is something for everyone - no experience necessary.
Beginner-friendly lessons allow budding watersport enthusiasts to develop a solid foundation in the sport. Suitable for adults and accompanied children aged 11 years and older, participants will learn how to lift and launch a stand-up paddleboard or kayak, master the paddle strokes needed to move around on the water and stay safe. Family- friendly lessons are also available for those aged 7+. They are just like regular lessons but have been adapted for a younger audience.
Every Sunday throughout the summer, Paddle Pups sessions are a chance for families with children aged 4 to 7 to head into the water and spend some fun, quality time together. Whilst using a stand-up paddleboard as a platform, families can enjoy lots of games and, once confidence is up, a little exploring too.
Those looking to keep little adventurers aged 7 to 12 entertained during the school holidays can choose from half-day Mini Adventures and three-day North Sea Adventure Camps. Half-day Mini Adventures are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the holidays from 9.30am to 12pm. With the choice of a stand-up paddleboard adventure or kayaking session, all activities have been designed with young people in mind and are run by fully qualified instructors.
CBK Adventures multi-day North Sea Adventure Camps run Tuesday to Thursday, from 9am to 4pm. This is a chance for youngsters to have fun on the water whilst making friends and developing new skills. They even get the opportunity to achieve their first Paddle Award.

Helen Henderson, Managing Director of CBK Adventures, said:
“At CBK Adventures, we are passionate about being out on the open water. Whether you are after a fun day out or a more mindful experience, time spent on the open water is the perfect solution. From brief introductions or full-day experiences, our expert instructors are here to help.”
The Cullercoats-based company's expertly crafted guided experiences are an opportunity to safely explore some of the region’s best waterways and beautiful coastlines from the water. Cullercoats Explorer is a chance for thrill seekers to explore the rocky caves, coves and inlets in Cullercoats by kayak, spot coastal wildlife (which can sometimes include dolphins) and the option to try a little sea swimming too. Sessions are tailored to the abilities of the group and the conditions on the day, which make every trip different.
CBK Adventures’ Sunrise SUP experience allows paddleboard enthusiasts to witness wildlife as it begins to stir, listen as the water laps on the shore and enjoy the slight chill in the air while waiting for the sun to rise. Early birds can paddle out just beyond the pier walls to get the best view of the sunrise. A guide will be on hand to provide participants with hot drinks to enjoy on their paddleboards as they take in the sun as it appears over the horizon.
Breakfast in the Bay is a chance to start the day with up to 1.5 hours of coastal exploring by kayak. This unique experience ends with a hearty breakfast on the beach supplied by one of the brilliant cafes in Cullercoats.
Famed for its seven bridges, adventurers can experience the Quayside of Newcastle and Gateshead from the water. Led by a fully qualified instructor, participants can quietly paddle beneath the bridges in CBK Adventures’ award-winning Tyne Bridges & Quayside adventure and explore hidden gems amongst the urban landscape as a guide shares tales of the area's past, present and future.
Gary Clark, Director at CBK Adventures, added:
“This year, we are delighted to be working with our partners at NE1 to provide people with the opportunity to experience kayaking on the River Tyne for free as part of their ‘Summer in the City’ campaign. We can not wait to take to the water and introduce this fantastic sport to new people in such a spectacular setting during these sold-out events this August.”
