CBK Launches Thrilling Autumn-Winter Programme
Explore Newcastle’s Hidden Gems and Experience an Icy Adventure Like Never Before
We are excited to announce our Autumn-Winter programme, featuring award-winning experiences that promise to showcase the beauty of Newcastle and the surrounding areas from unique perspectives.
As the colder months approach, locals and visitors alike are invited to continue the fun with exhilarating outdoor activities that reveal the hidden wonders of the city and its stunning coastline.
This season, we are reaffirming our commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences, no matter the weather. With an emphasis on safety, enjoyment, and a deep connection with nature, participants can look forward to breathtaking views, rich historical insights, and the invigorating embrace of the elements.
Famed for its seven iconic bridges spanning the steep Tyne Gorge, Newcastle Gateshead Quayside is best appreciated from the water. Our Tyne Bridges & Quayside kayak tour offers participants a serene yet exciting paddle beneath these architectural marvels, providing ample opportunities for photography and quiet reflection. This tour allows adventurers to discover two millennia of Newcastle Gateshead’s chequered history, engineering innovations, and the cultural renaissance transforming the landscape from expert guides.
Highlights include paddling through Newcastle Gateshead’s urban landscape uncovering hidden gems, and learning about the city’s past, present and future with expert guides.
As night falls, the Quayside transforms into a dazzling display of lights, illuminated buildings, the ever-changing colours of the Millennium Bridge, and the neon glow of riverside bars and restaurants. The Quayside Glow experience, launched in 2019 and now a sell-out sensation, offers the most thrilling way to see Newcastle and Gateshead after dark. Paddle an illuminated kayak on the River Tyne and witness the city’s vibrant lights from a whole new angle. This unique experience begins with a welcome drink at the INNSiDE Hotel on Newcastle’s quayside before setting out on the water.
For those seeking the ultimate winter thrill, we’re happy to present the return of Ice Dip Social, a revitalising outdoor experience at Cullercoats Bay. Embrace the invigorating cold waters of the North Sea, followed by a therapeutic Finnish tent sauna and a cosy group relaxation space. Complete with delicious locally sourced food, this adventure is perfect for those looking to boost their well- being while connecting with nature.
